Chicago Events

Here’s where you’ll find current happenings in Chicago, from theater to concerts to festivals. Just click on one of the icons to learn more about any event occurring in Chicago during your visit.

Theater. Chicago’s theater district has been completely revitalized in recent years. You’ll find megahits and Shakespeare, opera and dance, comedy and improv. Tony n’ Tina’s wedding is a long-running and popular dinner show at Piper’s Alley theater. Another favorite is Blue Man Group, playing at the Briar Street Theater.

Concerts. When it comes to concert events, Chicago has it all. From big name performers at venues such as the United Center and Allstate Arena to local bands playing at a local bar, you’re sure to find a favorite among the current shows. Chicago promotes a variety of genres -- blues, jazz, alternative and classical to classic rock. See who’s playing at the House of Blues or, in the summer, find upcoming performances at the outdoor Tweeter Center.

Festivals. In June, Chicago hosts the annual Blues Festival and if you’re visiting in late June/early July, you won’t want to miss the Taste of Chicago, held annually at Grant Park. In late August, the Chicago Latin Music Festival features the sounds of cumbias, meringue and salsa. All summer long there are a number of neighborhood festivals, art fairs and other special events. Find out what’s happening during your visit.
